The Role Provide all aspects of veterinary nursing care as per the Certificate IV of Veterinary Nursing or recognised equivalent. Carry out tasks as per the Prescribed Duties of Veterinary Nurses within the Vet Surgeons Act of WA.
Comply with University and TAHMU policies, procedures, and protocols.
Comply with The Veterinary Surgeons' Act of WA and other veterinary industry related Acts and Regulations.
Assist clinicians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures within the Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) service.
Triage patients according to hospital policy, on arrival and by telephone.
Communicate with, and respond to, enquiries from hospital clients, referring veterinarians and public by telephone and email.
Work closely with the ECC Leadership team to improve services and processes to meet the business requirements of the veterinary hospital.
As required, care for patients in the surgical and medicine veterinary wards.
Perform other tasks as required.
What you'll bring to this role Completion of a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent, or completion of a relevant Veterinary Nursing Diploma level qualification registrable in Western Australia.A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a veterinary practice, post qualification.Demonstrated confidence and skill when handling and restraining small animals.Excellent knowledge of diagnostic and surgical equipment as well as sterilising and aseptic techniques.Excellent organisational, time and workload management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines.Ability to work rotational shift work, including nights, weekends and public holidays as required.To Apply Please apply by submitting the documents below:
