Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator is responsible for providing project coordination and support for the Austroads National Heavy Vehicle Driver Competency Framework project.This is a high-profile project supported by Australia's transport ministers and will provide:Enhanced standards for skills competency and assessment of heavy vehicle driversIntroduction of online learning and testingNew arrangements to bring in experience-based pathways for higher class heavy vehicle licence eligibilityExploration of potential new licence eligibility conditions based on driver riskStrengthened training provider oversight and support.ResponsibilitiesReporting to both the Project Director, the role will be responsible for:Project scheduling, including progress tracking and revisionProject budget monitoring and reportingProject report coordination and quality assurance utilising Austroads project management tools and processesMaintaining quality system processes and proceduresDelivering secretariat services for internal and external governance groups including organising and administering meetings, preparing meeting packs, coordinating input, analysing and disseminating information on activities and preparing and distributing minutes and actionsCoordination activities including:assisting with procurement documentation and contract managementassisting with event planning and management of workshops and other stakeholder eventsDeveloping and coordinating input into project governance groups, including:Austroads project management groupsImplementation groupSteering committeesSupporting the reporting requirements for all governance activitiesUndertaking day-to-day administrative requirements and assisting with other Austroads activities as requiredContributing to continuous improvement, identifying ways to enhance value for our members and the public.Maintaining and adhering to Quality Systems processes and procedures associated with the roleOther duties as directed.About YouExperience in a similar roleAn understanding of project management methodologies and practicesSkills in project scheduling using Microsoft Project or a similar project management toolExperience in project monitoring and reportingAdministrative and secretariat skillsExperience in project budget monitoring and forecastingA knowledge of government authority processes and procedures would be highly regardedThis role would be suitable for applicants with the following personal qualities:The ability to determine work priorities and complete concurrent tasks and projects to a high standard within strict deadlinesWell-developed written and oral communication skills, as well as negotiation and interpersonal skillsCan-do attitude and willingness to learnStrong networking and teamworking skillsStrong attention to detailProfessional ethics and integrityComfort working in an environment which is constantly evolvingEmployee BenefitsAccess to Employee Assistance Program for all employees and their immediate familyExtra 5 days personal leave per financial yearWellbeing allowance of up to $500 per financial yearFlexible working arrangements and hybrid working from home availableAdditional paid parental leave entitlementsFurther education and professional development subsidization and leave support.Access to further professional development through LinkedIn Learning subscriptionAbout AustroadsAustroads is the collective of the Australian and New Zealand transport agencies representing all levels of government.
