ABOUT THE JOB As the Cadet Surveyor, you will be supported to gain valuable professional experience while you complete the remainder of your studies part time to obtain a Bachelor of Surveying.
By assisting the Surveying team in the assessment and analysis of new building and development activities, you will gain technical knowledge, develop valuable skills and gain hands-on experience in surveying and be supported by skilled professionals.
Training will be provided both on-the-job and through your university studies.
In this role, we will support you to:
Assist the survey team whilst carrying out field worksAssist with managing team specific databases and data storage systemsGain a deep understanding of the processes of gathering data, including searching plans online and in Council records to carry out surveysAnalyse and present thorough and accurate data collected in field surveysCarry out field works commensurate with demonstrated skill level, with capability increasing alongside experience and training, such as detail surveys, digital levelling, traversingPrepare suitable reports/plans and sketches to provide clients both internal and external to CouncilThe position is located at Lake Macquarie City Council's Administration building and involves travel to multiple areas within Lake Macquarie.
You will be rostered to work Monday to Friday, and occasionally on weekends with notice.
To be eligible for this role you must have completed the second year of a relevant undergraduate university degree and be eligible for enrolment in at least your third year in 2025.
Graduate applicants are not eligible for this cadetship. WHAT WE OFFER Receive a wage whilst studying towards a qualification starting from $1077.23 per week plus 12 percent superannuationPayment of university fees (including course and amenities fees) for the remainder of your related undergraduate studiesPaid time to study and attend compulsory classesYearly pay reviews and increases based on performance35 hour working week with nine-day fortnightFour weeks paid annual leaveBe mentored and work closely with a team of qualified professionals in a supportive, empowering, innovative and collaborative work environmentWe are looking for an eager candidate who will be in their third or final year of a Bachelor of Surveying at the commencement of 2025.
You will also:
