Being a coastal town, this is a vital skill for all community members, both young and mature.
The Head of Swim School role will manage all aspects of the swim school business, including strategic business growth planning to meet key performance targets, developing and implementing the Swim and Survive programs at Batemans Bay, Moruya, and Narooma pools, managing staff performance and professional development, creating business drivers and marketing strategies to increase program awareness, nurturing relationships with schools for swimming development and competitions, coordinating staff rosters, completing in-water swim teaching, and providing metric reporting to the Arts and Leisure Manager on a weekly basis.
This is a sensational opportunity for a full-time swim school manager role on the South Coast.
As the Bay Pavilions is a modern multi-functional facility, you'll be working alongside managers of aquatics, gym/leisure, customer experience, and theatre and arts in a diverse and high-performing team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Delivery of children's programs at Eurobodalla Pools Management of the learn-to-swim, squad, and aquatic programs at Eurobodalla pools. Recruitment, supervision, and performance management of all Learn to Swim and squad programs staff. Delivery of high-quality lessons and programs. Maintain relationships with key industry bodies and service providers. Manage all areas within agreed annual budgets. Provide lesson and program information for all Eurobodalla Shire communication channels. Membership and participation growth Implement a customer-centric culture where students enjoy their lessons, are rewarded, and parents/guardians are well informed. Oversee a structured development, retention, and acquisition strategy. Support the implementation of membership campaigns with the Head of Customer Experience & Sales. Effectively program the aquatic space to cater to community needs with consideration given to: Public recreation swim participation and revenue Lap and squad swimming Group fitness aquatic activities Key community and sporting groups/clubs Program and product development to keep pace with latest industry trends Maintain an expert level of knowledge of the latest industry trends. Lead and educate teaching teams on trends and information. Provide appropriate lesson innovations to inform annual program, service, and asset planning. Be the face of all Learn to Swim programs information within Eurobodalla. This role will be relentless in identifying these opportunities and will always ask, "How would I want a member of my family treated in this situation?". All Aligned Leisure staff will understand and deliver on our customer charter and service promise. The role will be based at the Bay Pavilions in Batemans Bay but will require travel to Narooma and Moruya pools.
Essential Qualifications and Experience: Experience in swim school and/or other fitness-based programs management. AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (preferred but not essential). The position will be subject to relevant pre-employment checks and must maintain a current working with children check. The successful applicant must hold or be willing to attain first aid and CPR qualifications. Personal Attributes: Focused on the customer. Strong ability to manage and work autonomously. Understands/enjoys the Arts & Leisure Industry and is motivated to serve Aligned Leisure. Highly organised. Disciplined to manage the varied components of this role.
