Programme & Project Management (Information & Communication Technology)Other (Education & Training)Full time$126,376 to $140,256 pa + 17% super + 6 weeks leaveFull time, continuing appointmentProfessional Level 10 Salary - $126,376 to $140,256 paPlus 17% superannuation and 6 weeks annual leaveCasuarina CampusLead the IT project management team and ensure the successful delivery of IT projects at Charles Darwin University (CDU)About the PositionDigital Technology Solutions (DTS) is a dynamic, high performing and stakeholder engaged department with a passion for service who are looking for a Senior Manager Project Office.In this new role, you will be a senior member of the DTS team providing management and direction for a team of motivated, high value project managers and PMO support staff, to consistently facilitate the delivery of high-quality project outputs and programme outcomes.Reporting to the Deputy Director Portfolio Transformation, you will be collaborating with the DTS leadership team and be responsible for the definition of project frameworks and policy whilst maturing tactical project centric processes and services; the establishment of a new project office service and embedding a cost effective, efficient and scalable project framework for the team of project managers and the PMO; you will ensure that projects are being delivered consistently in accordance with the portfolio requirements, and that data reporting on projects is reported consistently and on a regular cadence.About YouTo be successful, you will require:Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience working in a PMO, with demonstrated understanding of technical project delivery.Demonstrated extensive project planning experience, business case and project plan formulation, encompassing strategic, conceptual and analytical skills.Demonstrated ability to use sound judgement to make critical decisions across a broad range of diverse technology and digital centric initiatives.Proven capability to define, develop and manage key processes and work within frameworks like PMBok, Waterfall and or other methodologies.A record of building strong and productive relationships to deliver complex interdependent programs of work, Tier 1, 2 and 3 projects or oversee programmes with high level planning, reporting and communication with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.Some level of commercial acumen would be highly desirable as DTS engage with a varied selection of vendor partners, so experience appraising service proposals, scope of work definitions and contract / agreement assessment and review.Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to negotiate, influence and build consensus at senior levels and with diverse stakeholders on complex, sensitive issues. This includes communicating multifaceted technical issues and recommendations to non-technical staff.Preferably have experience operating within an ITIL centric IT environment where cross functional teams exist that plan, build, run and support a variety of technology ecosystems.Proven capacity to understand and interpret project & business requirements and their impact on the project management team.Highly developed management skills with the ability to build effective high-performance teams and engage in difficult conversations with staff in accordance with organisational policies.Accountable for the monthly compilation of status reports on all IT programs and projects for DTS leadership, including the preparation of quarterly reporting for various university control groups.RemunerationAppointment to this role will be at Professional level 10. The base salary will be in the range of $126,376 to $140,256 per annum.
