ABOUT CANNINGTON Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.
Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.
Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track.
The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.
WHAT SOUTH32 OFFERS 26 weeks full-paid, or 52 weeks half-paid parental leave for primary carersAbility to purchase up to 4 weeks of additional annual leaveThe opportunity to become a shareholder of South32 through our share plansAnnual short-term incentive bonus that recognises both your individual performance and the overall success of the businessABOUT THE ROLE This role is a Permanent Full-Time position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa.
As the Senior Mining Project Lead, you will be responsible for planning, developing, executing, and implementing a program of work that aligns with defined areas of accountability, ensuring the successful delivery of capital and operational projects.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, suppliers, and project teams to deliver cost-effective solutions on timeDemonstrate strong governance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with business needsFacilitate clear communication and reporting on project status, milestones, and risksSupport a culture of safety and continuous improvement through effective leadership and fostering collaborationABOUT YOU You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Significant exposure to underground mining operations and/or projectsExperience simultaneously leading and managing multiple projects ($8-10m portfolio)Delivering full life cycle brownfield projects ($10k-$3M) in remote locationsSkilled in developing and managing schedules and budgetsProven ability to lead and develop teams, driving success through coaching, performance management, and collaborationQualifications for this position are:
