Join a small, highly energised and collaborative teamManufacturers of mining and industrial parts while specialising in the design and manufacture of small to large gear drive systems for national and international customersRichlands - Brisbane locationAn exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson to join our engineering and design department on a full-time basis.With over 100 years of experience within the engineering and gear manufacturing industries, Crown Engineering at Richlands, Brisbane, is a privately owned and operated company, and a leading supplier of products and services within the mining, mineral processing and energy sectors to a wide range of national & international customers.Tasks & ResponsibilitiesDesigning products, jigs & fixtures for production/manufacturing departments;Reverse engineering and producing detailed manufacturing drawings of various mechanical parts;Checking and/or approval of drawings produced by the drafting team;Providing engineering support and documentation (including engineering change control, BOMs, mechanical design, work instructions, test procedures, verification and validation testing of design and manufacturing processes);Management and maintenance of the PDM system, control of design documentation and standardisation;Using AutoCAD LT and SolidWorks for design and drawings;Liaising with customers as required for drafting of products for customer orders and/or projects;Producing drawings in accordance with Crown (in-house) drafting standards;Implementing process change and continuous improvements to drafting systems;Prioritising your own workload and working as part of a team;Working closely with our drafting, engineering, production, and estimating teams;Willingness to travel occasionally to perform measurements, assessments, reporting, and evaluation at customer work sites or premises.Skills and ExperiencePermanent, unrestricted Australian working rights;Proficiency in English;Diploma in drafting or relevant engineering degree is essential;Experience in AutoCAD LT and SolidWorks – modelling, drafting, and PDM management;Experience in the measurement and reverse engineering of all types of industrial products;Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;A highly motivated individual with a 'can-do' attitude;Current Australian driver's licence and own vehicle.To be considered for this role, you will have at least 2 years of previous drafting experience in a similar manufacturing/workshop environment.A preferred but not essential knowledge/understanding in gear data, design, and manufacture or a willingness to learn.We are looking for somebody with an excellent track record in producing working drawings or models for manufacturing; possessing excellent interpersonal skills and strong time management skills, coupled with effective stakeholder engagement capabilities.If you are looking for the opportunity to work in a creative and unique environment, please apply nowSalary will be commensurate with experience in the range of $80,000 to $105,000 plus superannuation.Please send your application and CV to ****** Type: Full-timePay: $80,000.00 – $105,000.00 per yearSchedule:8-hour shiftMonday to FridayWork Location: In person
