With over 590 properties around the world, our brands include: Andaz, Grand Hyatt, Park Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt, Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Hyatt Ziva, and Hyatt Zilara.About the RoleAs the Assistant Director of Finance, you will be responsible for the preparation of accounts for various Hyatt Entities in Australia as well as assisting the Accountant to prepare the Hotel's financial reports.
Working in a team, you will support the Director of Finance in ensuring the day-to-day operations as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose.The varied and dynamic role provides a chance to develop your professional Accounting career within an international company.Some of the responsibilities include:Ensure that the department's activities are aligned with the corporate finance strategy and that hotel actions have been implemented where appropriate.Ensure that government-stipulated associate and tax legislations are strictly followed and implemented.Maintain all ledgers and journals and other accounting records of the hotel; compile and submit all corporate, regional, hotel, and governmental reports.Compile and maintain, in conjunction with the General Manager and Department Heads, all budget and forecasts relating to all activities of the hotel; review and approve monthly journal entries, balance sheet, and income statement.Prepare and interpret the financial statements and reports for the hotel.Assist with budgeting and forecasting.Assist with external auditors as required.Qualifications

Previous work experience in a similar position will be advantageous.Experience with Opera, Shiji (Infrasys), Microster, BirchStreet, Hyperion will be well regarded.Understanding of Australian accounting laws.A strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.The ability to work well under pressure.A flexible, adaptable and hands-on approach, willing to work as part of a team.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Effective time management skills to achieve set deadlines.Must have full working rights within Australia.With enriching work comes amazing rewards
