THE ROLE As the Safety Specialist, you will provide expert advice and support to management teams and employees by championing key safety initiatives to enhance health and wellbeing.
You will work closely with the wider team to drive the national safety strategy within your region.
Your ability to build strong relationships and implement effective controls to manage safety risks across the business unit will be key to your success.
You will join a team dedicated to resolving challenges and making a positive impact on people and the business through supportive guidance, knowledge sharing, coaching, and practical risk management programs.
Key Responsibilities: Coach supervisors, HSRs, and managers on safety leadership, culture, and standards Provide insights and analysis on safety metrics Monitor and support local implementation of safety management systems Guide operational teams in improving risk awareness and reduction programs Support timely, quality incident investigations, focusing on root causes and actions Share safety learnings across the team, promoting storytelling to enhance safety culture EXPERIENCE FOR SUCCESS Minimum 5 years' experience in a safety advisory role within a large organisation Skilled in interpreting and applying safety legislation, policies, and procedures Hands-on experience with safety management systems and implementation Ability to simplify complex concepts for clear communication Proven skills in investigation, auditing, analysis, and providing sound, solution-oriented advice APPLY At The Safe Step, we embrace individuality and differences in gender, age, ethnicity, race, cultural background, disability, faith, and sexual orientation.
