Position Overview: The Structural Drafter is responsible for designing and drafting various types of patios (flat, raised, gable, insulated roof, and custom) and providing full technical support to the project team.
This includes using software such as Excel and AutoCAD to create detailed plans, working with project managers and installers to address issues, and ensuring all necessary components and documentation are in place for smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities: Design Responsibilities: Design Flat Patios using Excel for calculations and drafting layouts. Design Raised Flat Patios with detailed drawings and specifications. Design Gable Patios utilizing both Excel and AutoCAD for structural integrity and accurate dimensions. Design Insulated Roof Patios by evaluating thermal and structural requirements. Design Custom/Combined Patios to meet specific project requirements, blending different elements into a cohesive structure. Design Hip Patios following traditional and modern design principles. Design Checking and Quality Control: Perform detailed Design Checks to ensure that all patio designs are accurate, meet code requirements, and comply with industry standards. Conduct Hardware Checks to confirm the selection of materials and components is correct and available. Support to Installation and Field Teams: Respond to Installers' Questions and provide clarification on drawings and design details. Troubleshoot and address Installers' Problems, providing on-the-job technical support when needed. Manage and coordinate Leak Fix-Ups, ensuring that any issues during installation or after completion are resolved promptly. Reading and Interpretation of Drawings: Ensure a thorough understanding of Reading Drawings for all relevant projects to produce clear and accurate technical plans. Required Skills and Qualifications: Education: Associate's degree or technical diploma in Drafting, Structural Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in structural drafting, preferably with a strong focus on patio or outdoor structures. Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, and experience with other drafting or design software (Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
Knowledge of structural principles for patio and outdoor structures, including flat, raised, gable, insulated roof, and custom designs.
Experience with design checks, hardware specifications, and ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations. Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for interaction with project managers, engineers, and installers.
Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $73,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
