Job DescriptionThe Liaison and Referral Coordinator plays a crucial role within the client by facilitating effective communication and coordination between primary healthcare subcontractors and the detention facility.
This position ensures that detainees receive timely and appropriate medical care through efficient referral processes and liaison activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAct as the primary point of contact between the immigration detention healthcare services and external healthcare subcontractors.Manage and coordinate all healthcare referrals for client, ensuring timely and appropriate access to necessary medical, mental health, and specialist services.Schedule and coordinate healthcare appointments for clients, ensuring minimal disruption to the detainees' routine and maximum efficiency for healthcare providers.Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all referrals, subcontractor communications, and appointment outcomes.Conduct regular audits of referral processes and subcontractor services to ensure continuous improvement.Provide regular updates to management and other stakeholders on referral activities and subcontractor performance.Provide training and support to detention service staff on referral processes and procedures.QualificationsBachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, social work, or a related field (preferred not essential).Experience in healthcare coordination, referral management, or healthcare administration.Knowledge of healthcare systems and processes, particularly in relation to refugee or detainee healthcare.Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.Proficiency in relevant computer applications (e.g., electronic health records, Microsoft Office suite).Additional InformationOur Culture: We are a team working together, we never forget that we're people focused.
