About the office The National School of Arts and Sciences is one of two national schools in the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Law and Business.
The National School is based on two distinct campuses in Fremantle and Sydney.
The School of Arts and Sciences delivers a practical, ethical and industry-focused education in diverse areas of study such as the liberal arts, communications and media, counselling and science, with a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs on offer.
About the role The School of Arts & Sciences recently commenced delivery of a nested sequence of accredited programs in Psychology.
We are seeking a student-centered, enthusiastic, and dynamic PhD qualified academic with teaching experience to join our team on our Fremantle campus.
The appointee will deliver courses in the undergraduate program, supervise Honours students, and contribute to research in the discipline.
The ideal candidate will be able to contribute to teaching in research methods, biopsychology, cognition, and learning.
Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain course and program material informed by contemporary developments in psychology education and related disciplines and in accordance with the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accreditation standards.
The conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshop, student field excursions, clinical sessions and studio sessions.
Supervision of the program of study of honours students or of postgraduate students engaged in course work.
A range of administrative functions the majority of which are connected with the subjects in which the academic teaches.
Qualifications, skills & experience A PhD in Psychology.
Knowledge of, and ability to apply, APAC accreditation standards to curriculum development and implementation.
Proven ability to prepare, coordinate and deliver high quality teaching and learning in APAC accredited Psychology undergraduate and honours programs, including the ability to produce curriculum informed by contemporary developments in psychology education and related disciplines.
