We are committed to fostering a diverse culture of respect and growth where differences are valued.About The PositionThe Mental Health Support Workers will support individuals living with complex trauma and psychosocial challenges at our residential sites.
Your support will be tailored to align with each participant's individual support plan.Working with external care teams and families, the role is responsible for providing high-quality, responsive, and person-centered support to assist participants enhance their everyday living skills, gain access and participation in community to achieve their goals, enhance their quality of life and physical and mental health.The roleSupport participants with their daily living tasks: Hygiene prompting, support with meal preparation and maintaining their living spaceSupporting participants to attend appointments and other community accessUse positive behavior support to implement approved restrictive practices as per the NDIS guidelinesDeliver support in accordance with individualised support plans to assist participants' wellbeingSupport participants to make decisions for themselves within their assessed capacityUsing your creativity to think outside of the box when dealing with complex situationsAbout YouQualification in mental health, psychology, social work, Drugs and Alcohol quals, or related field (desirable).Experience working with the criminal justice system and/or mental health system is highly regarded.Ability to empower lives through Trauma Informed PracticeAbility to work with Drug and Alcohol challenged participants2 years' experience working with people with complex mental illness providing behavourial/trauma informed supportA clear understanding of professional boundaries and restrictive practices Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate as part of a diverse team and work autonomously.Understand the challenges people with complex mental health and people from marginalised communities faceExperience in supporting people deemed as having significant complexity in their lives.Your application for this position will require you to have:NDIS Worker Screening ClearanceCurrent First Aid CertificateNSW Drivers license and vehicle
