Mackay Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineering professional to join our passionate and energetic team as a Development Engineer, specialising in urban infrastructure.

About this opportunity: In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering engineering services to Council, industry, and the public across a broad range of development matters related to civil and urban infrastructure.
Working under general direction, you will assess a variety of development applications, ensuring the timely processing, consistency, and quality of Council's donated assets.
Key Responsibilities: Assess and process a range of civil engineering applications, including operational works related to urban infrastructure, conducting site inspections, report writing and auditing.Provide expert advice and negotiate with developers, liaise with the public, and coordinate with Council departments and statutory authorities.Guide Technical Officers in assessing operational works and other civil engineering applications, ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes.Deliver strong technical advice on civil and urban development applications, preparing input for information requests and application conditions. Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or related fieldCurrent QLD Drivers LicenceDesire to work towards RPEQPractical experience in civil engineering including urban infrastructure Why work for Mackay Regional Council?
