About the role With extensive indigenous and historical archaeological expertise, you will utilise your skills to execute archaeological surveys and excavations as well as complete heritage significance assessments, management plans and reporting to the highest standard.
The role will be an integral part of the talented senior NSW team, supported by their Brisbane head office.
The Principal Archaeologist will help drive the company's expansion and growth in the NSW region therefore excellent internal and external stakeholder engagement and knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations is vital.
The role will see you enjoy a mix of field and office-based work requiring you to prioritise tasks, effectively communicate with clients, be proactive with safety and work both as part of the cohesive team but also autonomously when required.
About you You will need to possess a collaborative approach and a dedicated background as an Archaeologist, having worked extensively in similar historical and indigenous cultural heritage roles within New South Wales.

Key skills and experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in similar cultural heritage or archaeology rolesSignificant Indigenous and historical archaeology experienceSolid knowledge across areas such as property development, civil/ construction, mining, renewables, government and local councils' sectors in NSWReport writing, policy compliance, risk assessment, heritage searches and community consultationSupporting tenders, quotes and invoicing activities and ensuring budgets are adhered toAnalytical, problem solving and time management skills coupled with strong leadershipUnderstanding and knowledge of applicable legislation and regulationsUndertake surveys and effectively maintain data and photographic recordsWell versed in the use of the Microsoft suite, GIS and design software packagesWhat's on offer This role offers a highly competitive market salary package coupled with a bonus structure based on performance and business growth.
