Assistant Program Director

The Southeast Asia Business Exchange (SEABX) initiative was announced by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the ASEAN Indo-Pacific forum in Jakarta on 6 September 2023 as part of Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040.
The strategy, developed by Special Envoy for Southeast Asia, Mr Nicholas Moore AO, sets out a practical pathway to increase Australia's two-way trade and investment with Southeast Asia.
This is an opportunity to join the programs team at Austrade to implement a high-profile initiative that will make a practical contribution to advancing Australia's economic integration with Southeast Asia.
Accountabilities for the Role: Delivering high quality, value-adding group services to Australian businesses via a series of business missions.
Successfully leading a collaborative approach to working with colleagues at post, industry bodies, state & territory colleagues, and other stakeholders to deliver on the objectives of the initiative.
Using knowledge of government policy agendas and decision-making processes to influence and support the Government's trade priorities across Southeast Asia.
Key Duties of the Position: The Southeast Asia Business Exchange Assist Program Director will help Australian businesses amplify their trade growth in the region.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Manage a dedicated program team.
Develop project plans and timelines, lead delivery and prioritise elements necessary to achieve the program objectives.
Work closely with the Southeast Asia and sector teams to support the program engagements onshore and offshore.
Drive recruitment for and deliver sector-specific business missions across the region in collaboration with various stakeholders.
Help drive awareness amongst Australian businesses of the opportunities in Southeast Asia.
Develop and maintain relationships with industry bodies, business councils, and chambers.
Minimum Requirements: Australian citizenship – our successful candidate must be an Australian citizen.
Security clearance – our successful candidate is required to hold, or have the ability to obtain, and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
