The Skin Cancer Doctor est 2016 – provides skin cancer clinics to over 50 rural and remote towns across Australia.
We provide skin cancer checks and immediate surgical treatment negating the need for tertiary referral.
100% rural and remote.
Skin Patrol est 2004 – provides Skin Checks in the workplaces of small to large businesses all across Australia.
Suspicious lesions are imaged and a referral is organised with the patients' GP, local skin cancer clinic, specialist or to one of our own doctors.
70% metropolitan/30% regional.
Two roles are available - requirement FRACGP or FACRRM
The Skin Cancer Doctor: Joining either Dr Alan Jones (Qld/NSW) or Dr Dan Morgan (NSW), you will travel to 3-5 different rural towns over 3, 4, or 5 days as part of a typical skin cancer clinic, providing skin cancer checks, performing biopsies and excisions.
We have a fully trained surgical RN who can assist you or perform on your behalf biopsies and simple excisions.
Will also suit someone who is competent in dermatoscopic checks that is looking to advance their surgical skills, as onsite training can be provided.
Opportunity also exists for the right candidate to assist us in branching into other States, once surgical competence is assured.
We are willing to offer a one trip trial period without any long term obligation.
Skin Patrol: Join our national team of Skin Cancer Physicians in performing skin cancer checks in corporate workplaces (no surgical management).
A Heine Delta 30 dermatoscope will be provided.
A medical receptionist will prepare the patient, capture images of suspicious lesions and forward on your referrals utilising dermengine.
Second opinions are obtainable through Professor Soyer if required.
Sessions will typically be a half or full day and the odd trip 3-5 days.
Work will be tailored to your availability.
Locations are mostly metropolitan with minimal travel.
If your availability allows, travel to regional areas or interstate is possible and in fact we can line work up interstate if you are looking to add to a holiday.
Flights, meal allowances and accommodation included where travel may be required.
About you
This opportunity is for Skin Cancer Doctors or General Practitioners with dermatoscopy skills (with or without surgical skills).
Flexible part time work to fit in with your schedule.
You will be required to have a systematic work approach, excellent bedside manner, punctuality and have the ability to work a varied schedule.
Experience with Best Practice Medical Software or DermEngine is advantageous but not essential.
Further training is available in dermoscopy if required.
Training in surgery is available.
VR status for metropolitan or regional areas essential.
