Support our commercial, product, finance, compliance and executive teams to sustainably and compliantly grow the Zip businessApply your legal expertise to solve complex problems that positively impact our customers and partnersWork flexibly, as part of a collaborative and high-calibre teamWrite your story with ZipAs a Legal Counsel on the ANZ Legal Team, you will work directly with business units and leverage your experience in transactional/commercial matters and financial services regulations, with the guidance and support of senior members of the legal team and the General Counsel, ANZ.Interesting problems you'll get to solve:Assist with the reviewing, drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements (including partnership, merchant, non-disclosure agreements, marketing, terms & conditions for promotions, and other service provider agreements).Provide legal advice on relevant regulation including the National Consumer Credit Act and Privacy Act 1988 under supervision and guidance of General Counsel ANZ and Director, Compliance.Ensure commercial agreements comply with Zip's regulatory requirements and that obligations flow through to operationalisation to ensure ongoing compliance.Drive engagement with commercial teams to strategically understand deals and ensure agreements are commercially sound and can be operationally supported.Manage external law firms in their provision of legal advice.Have a deep understanding of Zip's products and business operations.What you'll bring to the team3-7 years of prior legal experience from a top-tier law firm and/or in-house counsel position.Experience in reviewing, drafting, negotiation and closing of commercial/transactional agreements.Experience with fintech, consumer finance and regulatory laws/regimes in AU (and New Zealand is a plus).Strong communication, presentation and organisational skills.Ability to raise potential risks and concerns regarding the decisions of others appropriately, in a way that generates alignment to enable successful launch of products/features/solutions.Strong internal and external client interfacing skills.Ability to prioritize a workload in a fast-paced culture while delivering sound legal advice, with the support of the General Counsel, ANZ.A can-do attitude and solutions to the table.An aptitude for identifying and managing risks.
