Now is the perfect time to join Ansvar on our growth journey and play a meaningful role in shaping the future.At Ansvar, you will be empowered to make decisions in an autonomous environment, free from the restraints of bureaucracy to create a positive impact.About the roleThis leadership role is responsible for the profitability, underwriting and oversight of Ansvar's Casualty portfolios across all associated product classes and customer segments - including SME, Mid-Market and Corporate (Strategic Accounts). The role will focus on setting the underwriting appetite and underwriting standards for the Casualty product offerings; and driving underwriting excellence through execution of a comprehensive underwriting quality governance and assurance framework.This role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.Key responsibilitiesUnderwriting – appetite, guidelines and standardsUnderwriting authority licence and accreditationRating / Pricing toolsUnderwriting governance & assuranceTechnical expert - including Strategic Client managementBuild organisation-wide underwriting capabilityKnowledge, skills and experienceExtensive experience (min. 10+ years) in a technical underwriting role in Casualty LinesDeep knowledge of casualty lines products and exposuresExperience in Policy drafting in long-tail linesConfident and influential communicator with the ability to negotiate at all levelsExperience in business / performance report writingExperience of effective stakeholder management within a commercial environmentCommercial acumen – decisiveness on critical business issues and decision makingWillingness to make ownership & accountability; ability to lead, mentor & coach othersAbility to display sound judgement and ability to problem solveResponds positively to change; actively seeks feedback on performanceAbility to create a positive working environmentPassionate about the business and making a differenceAnsvar believes deeply in embracing our Values and BehavioursWhat we offerLearning and Development opportunitiesReward & Recognition ProgramCompetitive Parental Leave ArrangementPurchase additional Annual Leave opportunityA range of Wellbeing & Safety benefits available to colleagues and their familiesParticipation in Ansvar's short term incentive schemeModern and contemporary office spacesAnsvar employees can participate in our annual Community Education Program which provides assistance to organisations supporting young AustraliansVolunteering opportunities provided throughout the yearFlexible working conditions are part of our DNA, and our hybrid working practices enable colleagues to collaborate effectively whilst balancing personal needs
