The OpportunityOur ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, products and equipment and will be able to work without supervision while demonstrating a high level of honesty and integrity.
Previous experience as a cleaner will be highly regarded, and a current 'C' Class driver's licence is essential.
To be successful you must be able to undertake the physical aspects of the role and tolerate working outdoors in North Queensland conditions.

Skills and Qualifications: High attention to detail in order to deliver a clean, hygienic, safe and aesthetic environment for Council employees and members of the public;Understanding of safe chemical handling requirements, with the ability to measure simple mixture quantities for chemical use and comply with manufacturers' specifications;Friendly and self-motivated team player, with a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal or no direct supervision;Well-developed organisational skills to manage competing priorities, complete set outcomes to meet deadlines, including the practical planning and coordination of own work schedule;Current Queensland 'C' Class licence or equivalent (essential);Our CouncilHinchinbrook Shire Council is one of the largest employers in the region with approximately 200 employees working across multiple technical, administrative, operational and senior management roles.

Council offers favourable working conditions including a nine-day fortnight for most roles, generous superannuation and leave entitlements.
What Council Offers: 76 hour fortnight with roster variations depending on the position (9-day fortnight - RDOs in accordance with Council policy)Up to 12.5% Superannuation employer contribution for contributing members5 weeks annual leave plus 17.5% annual leave loading15 days paid sick/parental leaveSalary Packaging optionsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Accredited Mental Health First Aid OfficersAnnual Flu vaccinations + Skin ChecksCorporate Uniforms (annual allowance) and PPE suppliedGeneral Salary Information:Level 2 + District + Construction $60,918 per annum plus superannuation.
$30.83 per hour.
Pre-employment ScreeningPre-employment screening includes Medicals, Drug and Alcohol Testing, and Criminal History Checks to ensure capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsApplicants must be able to safely and competently carry out strenuous labouring and manual handling activities.
The position will require the employee to carry out physical tasks which may include manual handling, repetitive bending, kneeling, twisting and/or squatting, lifting, working in confined spaces, and working at heights.
