Location ProfileDoveton College is a unique, diverse and vibrant learning community located in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, in one of the most disadvantaged metropolitan regions of Australia.

Doveton College provides high-quality teaching and learning programs across the 0-15 age range, with additional learning opportunities for parents and the wider community.
It is a vibrant learning hub with approximately 100 children in the Early Learning Centre and more than 600 students in Foundation to Year 9.
Selection CriteriaSC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
SC2: Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies.
SC3: Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning.
SC4: Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
SC5: Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values.
SC6: Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed practice.
RoleThe classroom teacher focuses on planning, preparation, and teaching to achieve specific student outcomes.
Classroom teachers may be required to undertake other duties in addition to their rostered teaching duties.
ResponsibilitiesThe role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program;Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings and staff meetings;Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach in the specified curriculum areas.
