Cougar Group is a market-leading OEM manufacturer, hire fleet specialist, and aftermarket service provider based in the NSW and QLD underground coal mining industry.
We design, engineer, manufacture and assemble a diverse range of underground coal diesel equipment, including Personnel Transporters, Graders, Underground Dozers, and Longwall Chock Carriers.
With a hire fleet of over 80 pieces of equipment, including transporters, LHDs, and longwall move equipment, plus OEM orders at full capacity for the next two years, we are expanding our workshop team to support our ongoing dedication to customer service.

Provide technical assistance on OEM machinery in the workshop.Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical issues on OEM and hire fleet equipment.New build manufacture & assembly of Underground Man transporters (Minecruisers & Predators), Graders, Longwall carriers and Dozers.Repair and Overhaul of Hire Fleet & Customer assets including Underground Loaders, Flitmates, Heavy Lift Loaders, Man transporters, Graders, Longwall carriers and Dozers.Complete documentation, shift reports, safety tools, failure analysis, and non-conformance reports.Collaborate with key stakeholders within the business for effective communication and improvement recommendations.What we're looking for:
Trade qualified Mechanical or Diesel Fitters.Experience in underground coal mining and underground diesel equipment (desired).Strong knowledge of fluid power principles and the ability to read schematics.Experience with troubleshooting and diagnostics.High-level commitment to safety culture.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.RIISS00030 Explosion Protected Diesel Engine Systems Maintenance Skill Set (desired).If you are a proactive, driven individual with a passion for mechanical equipment and safety, we encourage you to apply.
