The Australian Psychological Society (APS) is the foremost professional body and voice for psychological science and practice in Australia.
From professional development and support services to advocating in government, we cater to the needs of members and help grow the capacity of the psychology workforce.
While in the general public we provide the psychology information and tools people need, ultimately we serve our purpose of improving the mental health and wellbeing of the Australian population.
Your Role:
We are looking for a talented individual to lead our marketing and communications teams, driving our mission forward with creativity and strategic vision.
As the Head of Marketing and Communications, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our integrated marketing, brand, media, and communications strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies that align with APS's goals, enhancing member engagement and retention.
Marketing: Lead the team to create and optimize marketing campaigns, craft compelling messaging, and design impactful materials across various channels.
Media Relations: Lead media strategies to position APS as a leading authority in psychology, ensuring positive representation in the media.
Brand Management: Actively manage APS's brand, ensuring consistent and strong brand positioning across all channels.
Content Management: Oversee the publishing function, ensuring high-quality production and timely delivery of communications and materials.
Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior executives and engage with members to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into strategies.
What We're Looking For:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 8 years in a senior marketing and communications role, with proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
Skills: Strong leadership, excellent communication, strategic thinking, and proficiency in digital marketing and branding.
Attributes: Innovative, collaborative, and empathetic leader with a member-first approach and high level of professionalism.
