Join Our Team as a Nurse Educator

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse Educator with expertise in radiation oncology to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis (Monday-Friday 30.4 hours/week).
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in advancing education, professional development, and high standards of care for our nursing staff.
Reporting to the Group Director of Nursing, you will work closely with other Nurse Educators as part of the Icon Nurse Education Team (INET).
Role Overview:
As a Nurse Educator at Icon Cancer Centres, you will serve as a clinical expert and key resource, responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive education and training programs.
Your role will focus on providing valuable knowledge and expertise to nursing staff enhancing performance, and maintaining competence to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care across the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and deliver clinical education and training programs to enhance staff competence.
Create and implement clinical competency assessment tools.
Collaborate with on-site clinical facilitators to assess education needs and develop relevant learning packages.
Research and implement innovative learning practices tailored to staff needs.
Work closely with the Associate Director of Nursing - Education and on-site Clinical Facilitators to address emerging clinical needs and prioritize education initiatives.
Provide education and support for mentors and preceptors.
Foster a quality framework, supporting staff with continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure adherence to organizational standards and mandatory education requirements across nursing staff, in collaboration with clinical facilitators.
Requirements:Qualifications/Registrations:
Registered Nurse with a current licence from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
Post-graduate qualification in education or relevant specialty clinical area (or working towards).
Minimum 5 years of post-graduation clinical experience.
Minimum 5 years of oncology nursing experience, including minimum 3 years of radiation oncology nursing experience.
Desirable:
Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., CNSA, COSA).
Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or working towards).
Ability and flexibility to work across multiple Icon sites as needed, including travel.
Experience:
Proven experience in a clinical education role, including program design, implementation, assessment, and evaluation.
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and maintain relationships across all levels of healthcare professionals.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills within clinical settings.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the nursing and education teams.
Proficiency in utilizing various technologies for healthcare training and development programs.
