On offer: Based in Greenslopes, QLD2x casual opportunities availablePaying on SCHADS Level 3 plus SuperMay be eligible for salary packaging options (up to $15,899 tax free)Stride Rewards – access to discounts from 100s of retailers (fashion, food and fitness)Supportive team environmentExcellent training and career developmentRole overview: Provide quality support and services to young people with a mental health issue who live in residential serviceWork collaboratively with young people in their recoveryProvide support that is client-focused, community oriented, and sensitive while utilising effective listening, empathy and communication skillsAssist young people with mental health issues to develop and maintain relationships, which facilitate independenceAssist young people with mental health issues to improve their daily living skills through guidance, supervision, and encouragementMentor and act as role models for young people in building positive social skills, utilising effective conflict management and negotiation, and building healthy relationshipsEncourage and educate young people on healthy living habits to support emotional well beingEncourage the growth of self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence in the young peopleRequirements: Minimum of Cert IV in Mental Health, Community Services or other related discipline (ideally a completed Diploma or Bachelors)Experience in working with young people experiencing mental health issuesDemonstrated capacity to relate to young people, their families/carers, and other stakeholders with dignity and respectAbility to assess risk and follow relevant protocols to manage crisis situations calmly and effectivelyDemonstrated and effective listening and communication skills in both written and verbal formatsUnderstanding of and commitment to the principles of duty of care, and rights to privacy and confidentialityAbility to help program participants link in with other relevant community resources and to promote the rights, responsibilities and recovery of young peopleMust be available for overnight shiftsMust be available to work a rotating 24/7 rosterMust be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue CardMust hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearanceCurrent Driver's licenseStride is committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people.
