The company is able to offer its customers local policies for their global operations, which ensure that the established service and insurance protection is extended for all covered risks world-wide.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Underwriter or Underwriter, based in our Sydney CBD office.
You will maintain and develop strong business relationships, make quality underwriting decisions and deliver high quality service to our brokers.
You will be responsible for underwriting key broking partners Marine business, including making underwriting recommendations and decisions within the referral process.
You will have a demonstrated knowledge of industries and the insurance market, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven sales ability and a passion for customer service and building relationships.
Key responsibilities and duties will include (but not limited to):
Develop and foster existing and new broker relationships, along with client relationships; Review Marine Cargo/Project and Hull risks and complete all necessary Underwriting duties; Complete premium calculations for new business and renewals through the premium rating systems and guidelines; Issue and review policy wordings as required; Identify referral triggers according to HDI Global SE, Australia Underwriting Guidelines and local branch underwriting authority and escalate as necessary with recommendations; Operate within the delegated underwriting license and underwriting guidelines; Work with HDI's Risk Engineers to improve clients risk profiles by discussing and following up risk recommendations; Work with the team to ensure that business goals are met.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum 3 years Underwriting experience on either Marine, Energy, Liability or Property lines; Demonstrated ability to time manage and prioritise; Exceptional communication and attention to detail; Proven track record of delivering results and fostering relationships; HDI offers a values-based dynamic working environment, a flexible approach to work, and a learning framework to support your continued development.
