The role In this role you will support the organisation by reviewing, updating, and creating policies and procedures specific to the People and Culture function.
This role ensures alignment with employment legislation, organisational values, and contemporary best practices, enabling a consistent and compliant approach to people management.
This role contributes to the development and maintenance of policies that support ECU's strategic priorities while ensuring legislative compliance and a positive employee experience.
In this role you will: Conduct comprehensive reviews of People and Culture policies to ensure compliance with employment legislation, enterprise agreements, and best practices.
Draft new People and Culture policies and procedures in response to emerging organisational needs or legislative changes.
Regularly update outdated policies to ensure they reflect current organisational values and practices.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather input for policy development and refinement.
Provide expert interpretation of policies and legislation to support decision-making and issue resolution.
Monitor and evaluate trends in policy and legislation, providing recommendations for proactive policy updates About you You will have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and will have demonstrated experience in developing, reviewing and implementing policies and procedures in line with legislative requirements and contemporary HR practices.
In addition, you will have: Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Law, or a related discipline OR equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, or professional accreditation.
Demonstrated ability to assess complex issues, synthesise information, and provide clear, actionable solutions in policy and procedure development and implementation.
Ability to interpret and apply complex legislative frameworks, enterprise agreements, and best practice guidelines to ensure compliant and relevant policies Proven capacity to independently manage multiple priorities, deliver high-quality outputs within set timeframes, and adapt to shifting organisational needs.
A proactive approach to identifying policy gaps, recommending updates, and aligning policies with strategic objectives and evolving industry standards.
Capacity to support organisational change by ensuring policies and procedures reflect and promote cultural and operational outcomes, working closely with cross-functional teams.

Please note that there is an occasional requirement to travel to the CBD, Mount Lawley and Bunbury campuses.

Benefits & Remuneration This 0.6FTE, 12 month fixed term position attracts remuneration of $115,042 to $129,573 pa (HEW 8) (pro rata 60%) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
