About the role Reporting to the Senior Engineer – Drill and Blast you will be responsible to provide technical assistance to the mining operations department including the geology, survey, geotechnical engineering teams for the purpose of ensuring that safe and efficient mining practices are communicated and executed.
Your duties and responsibilities, although not restricted to will include the following:
Drill and Blast design and control including blast master creation utilising team collaborationPrepare and present short- and medium-term open pit mining schedules to adhere with budget requirementsOptimisation of drill & blast processes with a focus on increasing operational efficiencySupport the Senior Mining Engineer with mine scheduling and budgetingEnsure all new designs and updates are well communicated with relevant stakeholdersLiaise with stakeholders providing appropriate technical information to carry out the mine planProduce daily, weekly, and monthly reports and reconciliationsAnalyse production information to evaluate mine production against plans for continuous improvementAssist with a variety of mining projects from planning stage to executionAbout you You will be a motivated experienced mining engineer and have the desire to enhance your career at a dynamic and expanding mine site where innovation and ideas are encouraged and executed.
You will require the following qualifications, skills and experience:
Bachelor of Engineering – Mining or equivalentMinimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar engineering role in open pit miningExposure to long term planning (highly desirable)Demonstrated experience in Open Pit Drill and Blast (advantageous)The ability to build relationships with team members and across the wider business, displaying excellent communication skills both written and verbalPerform well under pressure with the ability to adapt and find solutions to setbacksExceptional planning and organisation skills to meet required deadlinesHighly motivated and accountable to delivering results and meet KPI'sAdhere to safety compliance requirements and follow instructions and proceduresExperienced user of Deswik and ShotPlus or similarCompetent user of MS Excel, Word and PowerPointAt Evolution, as our name suggests, change and transformation is in our DNA.
