Our client is deeply involved in the integration of advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Virtual Power Plants (VPP), driving the shift towards a more sustainable and resilient energy landscape.
They are seeking a talented Energy Market Analyst to join their team, focusing on BESS and VPP technologies to support strategic decision-making and market positioning.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in analysing energy market dynamics, evaluating the performance of energy storage and VPP assets, and providing insights that support the optimisation of operations and the development of new business models.

Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyse energy market trends, pricing, and regulatory changes impacting BESS and VPP operations.Develop models to forecast market opportunities for energy storage and VPP solutions.Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing BESS and VPP assets.Conduct data analysis to support optimisation of energy trading and grid services.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align market analysis with strategic objectives.Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on market insights and opportunities.Identify risks and opportunities related to market conditions and regulatory changes.Support business development activities by providing market intelligence and analytics.Track competitor activities and benchmark performance against market peers.Assist in the development of new products and services within the BESS and VPP portfolios.Provide input into strategic planning processes based on market research findings.Engage with industry stakeholders to gather insights and stay updated on market developments.Develop dashboards and tools to visualise data and market trends effectively.Support the financial modelling and valuation of energy storage and VPP projects.Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of different market conditions on asset performance.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.Proven experience in energy market analysis, preferably with BESS and VPP focus.Strong understanding of the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM) and regulatory environment.Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with experience in data modelling.Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, or similar software.Ability to interpret complex market data and translate it into actionable insights.Experience with energy trading, optimisation, and asset management.Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly to stakeholders.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, energy storage, and grid services is highly desirable.Benefits:Market-leading remuneration and comprehensive benefits.Be part of an innovative team shaping the future of energy.Access to flexible working arrangements, including hybrid work options.Opportunities for professional growth and skill development.Collaborative and inclusive work environment with a focus on innovation.Additional leave benefits, including wellbeing and volunteer days.Employee assistance programmes and wellness initiatives.For further information, please contact: IVAN PIGNATARODirectorD'Arcy WeilT: M: E: Please note that current Australian working rights are required for this position.
