In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to deliver statistical analysis and data linkage services.
These services are critical for supporting health data usage in areas such as funding, planning, research, and the evaluation of health services.
The role will also involve building strong, collaborative partnerships both within the Department of Health and with external clients, focusing on statistical analysis, data linkage, and information service needs.
Additionally, the position will represent Queensland Health on national, state, and interdepartmental committees, providing expert advice and promoting Queensland's involvement in key health statistics programs and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing budgets and resources.
Leading a team and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through effective communication, staff development, and performance management.
Ensuring ethical decision-making and adherence to government policies on employment equity, occupational health and safety, and ethical behavior.
Maintaining professional development and ensuring that team members are equipped with contemporary knowledge and skills.
The Successful Candidate:
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate strong leadership and management capabilities at a senior level within a statistical analysis and health information setting.
You will exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, including strong written communication skills and the ability to consult and communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels, as well as with external organizations and professional groups in both the public and private sectors.
You will possess in-depth knowledge of data governance and information security, statistical analysis and information service needs of key stakeholders in a health service environment, and a proven track record of managing services in technically complex areas such as epidemiology, biostatistics, or health sciences.
Additionally, you will demonstrate strategic thinking, strong analytical abilities, and innovation, with successful experience in planning, managing, and executing major information service projects within critical service delivery organizations.

As part of the commissioning role, the Division has responsibility for investing nearly $18 billion on behalf of the State and managing community services contracts to the value of approximately $280 million.
