Surun Services is a well-established contracting company delivering critical infrastructure projects and electrical maintenance to local and state government bodies across the Perth Metro Area.
We are looking for an experienced and qualified plant and machinery operator to join our team and help support the growth and expansion of our business.
About the Role:
As a Plant Operator, you will operate a variety of plant and machinery, including excavators, elevated work platforms, tip trucks, travel towers, and HIAB cranes.
You will work closely with the team to deliver electrical infrastructure projects, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating a range of plant and equipment, including excavators, elevated work platforms (truck and trailer mounted), tip trucks, 40-metre travel tower, and HIAB cranes.
Your role will involve working closely with the team to deliver electrical infrastructure projects, with a focus on safety, quality, and getting the job done right the first time.
Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate and maintain plant and equipment (excavators, elevated work platforms, tip trucks, travel towers, and HIAB cranes)
Conduct excavation, trenching, lifting, and earthworks according to safety guidelines
Perform daily equipment checks and routine maintenance
Assist with site preparation, material handling, and other site tasks
Follow safety rules and ensure a safe working environment
Work with the team to complete projects on time and to high standards
Support quality assurance efforts and meet quality standards

Requirements:

Current HR Class Driver's Licence (Heavy Rigid).
Relevant plant operator qualifications for excavator, elevated work platforms (truck and trailer mounted), tip trucks, travel towers, and HIAB cranes (including rigging)
Proven experience operating the equipment listed above in civil or electrical infrastructure projects.
Strong work ethic and a motivated approach to completing tasks efficiently and to high standards.
A commitment to safety and the ability to maintain a safe work environment at all times.
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance and completing the job right the first time.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with others to achieve project goals.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions clearly.

First Aid Certificate
Low Voltage Rescue / CPR
Dogging and Rigging Certification
Licence to Perform High Risk Works Minimum class - Boom Type 11+mtrs Elevating Work Platforms (EWP)
Working Safely at Heights Certification (WAH)
Traffic Management
Low Voltage Rescue / CPR
Confined Space Certification

Pole lighting installation experience
Experience in reading schematic drawings
