Senior Transport Modeller

In this role of Senior Transport Modeller, you will support the strategic modelling team in the development and maintenance of the strategic transport model across Queensland.You will also play a vital role in building relationships and delivering solutions that meet customer needs, requiring proficiency in various tools & analytics.Some of your responsibilities will include:Applying specialist knowledge and skills in providing professional advice on appropriate transport modelling approaches, systems, and procedures, and developing systems and procedures associated with transport modelling.Analysing various transport datasets to provide input into transport models development and maintenance.Undertaking research on leading-edge data analytics, visualisation and programming to support the transport modelling team.Assisting in procurement activity by calling quotations, letting tenders, conducting negotiations with and supervising consultants and contractors.Building professional collaborative relationships with a wide range of professionals both within and outside the Branch.To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:Tertiary qualifications in one of the following: Civil Engineering, Traffic and Transport Engineering, Transport Planning, Town Planning, Statistics, Economics, Geospatial Information System, Modelling, Mathematics, or a numerate discipline.Experience in transport modeling, data science, planning, or other relevant field, with a strong focus on continuous learning and growth.Ability to adeptly manage projects that align with cost, time, and quality benchmarks.Ability in fostering and maintaining valuable relationships for collaborative customer-focused results, utilising cooperation for optimal outcomes.Understanding in utilising one or more of the following:Transport modelling software (e.g., EMME, Visum)Geographic Information Systems (e.g., MapInfo, QGIS, ArcGIS)Visualization software, Extract, Transform, and Load software (e.g.
Tableau, Alteryx, Knime)Programming languages (e.g.
