Selection Criteria SC1 The capacity to liaise and engage with contractors on the school site as required and manage projects adhering to OHS practices and protocols.

SC4 The ability to work as a team member when overseeing building and maintenance projects in the school.
SC5 The ability to use standard computer operating systems and software to maintain data and compliance documentation (including AIMs, Compass, and SAM4Schools).
Role Monday-Friday 8am-4:06pm
To ensure the effective management of the school's facilities, maintenance, and safety systems in a professional and competent manner.
This role supports the school in maintaining compliance with OHS standards and facilitating a safe and efficient environment for staff, students, and visitors.
Facilities, buildings, and grounds are maintained and improved to reach the highest possible standards that provide a pleasant, safe, and secure environment for staff, students, and visitors.
Range 3 is distinguished by the introduction of management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional support services.
The role will usually impact beyond the work area or professional field.
It seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, operations, or educational programs.
Direction on targets and goals is provided but the position will have some degree of latitude in determining how they are achieved.
This latitude will generally be limited by standard procedures and school policy.
Deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction from senior management.
The provision of business management responsibilities becomes a feature at range 3.
Management of staff to achieve the expected outcomes is a key responsibility.
Staff management issues will be resolved with minimal reference to senior management, although guidance will be required in more complex cases.
Senior management will be provided with timely reports and advice, although this will generally be confined to matters relating to the immediate work area, service provision, or educational program and is unlikely to impact substantially on whole of school operations.
Responsibilities Facilities Management:
Work as part of the Facilities Team with Principal, Business Manager, and Finance Manager.
Review the Rolling Facilities Evaluation (RFE) and develop the School Maintenance Plan (SMP).
Organise Facilities Team meetings, including agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
Oversee grounds maintenance, including tree audits, signage, bins, boom gates, and equipment repairs.
Communicate updates on works, closures, and other facilities-related issues to staff, students, and parents.
Conduct furniture audits, coordinate orders, and manage repairs.
Liaise with contractors for regular and additional work requirements.
Manage and organise repairs and servicing.
Report emergencies/urgent issues to Makesafe (DE).
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS):
Maintain and update OHS-related documents to ensure compliance with regulations.
Conduct inductions for volunteers, visitors, and contractors using SAM4Schools.
Assist in developing and maintaining the Emergency Management Plan (EMP).
Liaise with School Safe to address safety requirements.
Contractor Management:
Manage contractors for maintenance, repairs, and servicing, ensuring OHS compliance.
Communicate with Tradeflex cleaning teams daily regarding issues and requirements.
Order consumables, review cleaning reports, and arrange additional cleaning as required.
Asset Information Management Service (AIMS):
Develop and maintain maintenance schedules.
Upload contractor details and manage the school's maintenance program.
Process invoices and upload SMP tasks.
Policy and Compliance:
Ensure relevant policies and related documentation are up to date.
Support audits such as OHS, Essential Safety Measures (ESM), and tree audits by liaising with auditors, providing required documents, and addressing audit outcomes.
Project and Contract Management:
Research and engage contractors in accordance with procurement policies.
Induct contractors and manage their work requirements.
Oversee contractor activities and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Administrative Support and General Duties:
Assist with reception duties, handling phone inquiries, and visitor management as required.
Provide first aid to staff and students as required.
Support emergency responses as needed.
Other duties directed by Principal and Business Manager as required.
