The Faculty of Health collaborates with healthcare consumers and industry partners and works as a part of an interdisciplinary team to develop world-class approaches to healthcare education and research.
Improving Palliative, Aged and Chronic Care through Clinical Research and Translation (IMPACCT) focuses on interdisciplinary collaborative research optimizing the health and wellbeing of individuals living with chronic disease and life-limiting illnesses and their families.
IMPACCT is a research centre in the newly developed Research Institute for Innovative Solutions for Well-being and Health (INSIGHT) at UTS.
INSIGHT will transform outcomes in our community by improving clinical care and health, driving responsive health policy, informing sustainable models of health care and health systems, and building the health care and health research workforce of the future.
About the role We have an opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to engage in high-quality research focused on optimizing delirium prevention in older adults with cancer.
This position is part of a program funded under a NHMRC Investigator grant.
The role involves conducting high-quality research focused on delirium in people with cancer, coordinating research protocols, and preparing ethics and data applications.
The successful candidate will be responsible for qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, contributing to methodological advancements in delirium prevention and management.
You will produce high-quality research publications that contribute to the advancement of this field, while assisting in the supervision of HDR candidates, providing guidance and mentorship to nurture the next generation of researchers.
In this role, you will engage in high-quality research, collaborating with internal and external research partners.
You will also engage, foster, and develop links with industry partners.
About You You are a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional with experience in delirium research.
Your knowledge spans across qualitative and quantitative research design, including clinical trials, and you possess a deep understanding of the ethical considerations involved in working with vulnerable populations, such as individuals living with cancer and those with cognitive impairment.
As an ideal candidate, you will possess:
A PhD in health or health-related discipline and research experience in health.Experience in research in delirium.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to develop research protocols, ethics applications, and research reports/publications.Proven ability to coordinate research projects including health services and clinician stakeholders.Clinical trials experience and understanding of ICH Good Clinical Practice.Understanding of the ethical considerations of research with people with cognitive impairment and those living with cancer.Demonstrated capacity to work sensitively with people living with cancer and/or who have experienced delirium.Base Salary Range: $121,566 to $143,880 pa (Level B)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
