The CSA Mine is located in Cobar NSW and is Australia's highest-grade copper mine.We are located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales.
At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia's deepest underground mines.Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, CSA Mine directly employs over 500 people including contractors.Are you an expert in both automation and electrical systems, ready to make an impact in the mining industry?
Join the CSA team as an Auto Mine Specialist and take charge of the cutting-edge technology driving our autonomous mining operations.About the Role:As an Auto Mine Specialist, you will be at the forefront of integrating automation and electrical systems in our underground mine.
Your role will include overseeing the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of autonomous equipment, with a focus on the electrical components that power our technology.Key Responsibilities: Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot autonomous mining equipment and systems.Perform routine and preventative maintenance on electrical systems related to autonomous equipment such as electric drives, control panels, and power distribution units.Diagnose and repair electrical faults to ensure minimal downtime in mine operations.Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and operators to enhance system performance.Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and mine regulations.Provide training and support to the maintenance team on electrical and automation systems.Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on optimizing both electrical and automation components.Manage software updates, system calibrations, and electrical infrastructure improvements.About You:Strong background in underground mining operations with experience in both automation and electrical systems.Solid understanding of electrical circuits, components, and maintenance within an underground mining environment.Hands-on experience with autonomous mining equipment such as electric loaders, trucks, and drills.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, troubleshoot electrical faults, and perform system repairs.Knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and other control systems will be an advantage.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially with electrical components.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field will be highly regarded.Conditions:This is a 7/7 roster, and commute options include residential, DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane or Sydney.Candidates interested in DIDO or FIFO will be provided with commute single accommodation and meals at the mine camp.
