Assistant Director, Strategic Reform | Federal Government | $121,717 to $138,722Our client is committed to enabling Aboriginal communities to succeed on their own terms. Working in partnership with Traditional Owners and their stakeholders to deliver excellence in land administration, sustainable economic development, and social advancement. Our client's mission is to form purposeful partnerships that empower Traditional Owners and support their aspirations for their communities.Role Overview:Our client is seeking a suitably experienced policy adviser with strong research and analytical skills, with an ability to translate knowledge into practical solutions. The successful candidate will focus on building upon existing structures and approaches to deliver outcomes in relation to economic development, home ownership, operational frameworks, and the future delivery of support to Traditional Owner partners.Experience and Strengths Required:High level of cultural competency and understanding of the issues affecting Indigenous Australians.Design and development of policy, systems, and structures to support the achievement of objectives.Production of documentation to support strategic initiatives.Ability to analyse data to build an evidence base to inform decision making.Constructively engage with colleagues, stakeholders, and client partners to build consensus.Flexibility, good judgement, and political nous.Key Responsibilities:Working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders across different levels of government, industry, the private sector, and communities to identify opportunities and achieve policy objectives.Representing the Executive Director at internal and external forums and meetings.Harnessing information and opportunities for the broader benefit of Aboriginal Traditional Land Owners.Policy and Procedure:Providing key strategic advice to the Executive Director regarding regulation, policy, and procedure, across areas such as land reform, home ownership, bank finance, and investment.Preparation of briefs, reports, and other correspondence on behalf of the Executive Director and client.Support the Engagement Teams, including the planning and implementation of projects aligned to the Executive Director's strategic priorities.Developing internal policy and procedure within the broader context of the client's policy environment that complies with relevant legislation.Undertaking work activities with an awareness of their possible impact on strategic, political, or operational outcomes for the office.Obtaining an in-depth understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks.Any other duties that may be required or requested from time to time to deliver the work of the client.Supervision and Management:Effectively managing competing priorities and strategic directions when achieving team planning and project outcomes in line with the office goals and objectives.Supervising the development of lower classification levels; building team capacity through coaching and encouraging career development.What We Offer:A collaborative and inclusive work environment that values cultural heritage and community engagement.Opportunities for professional development and career advancement within the Federal Government.A chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Aboriginal communities and contribute to sustainable reform.How to Apply:If you are passionate about making a difference in Indigenous affairs and meet the above criteria, we invite you to submit your application, including a resume and a cover letter addressing the key selection criteria, to ****** by 8AM (NT Time) on Sunday, 17 November 2024.
