2nd Engineer - 55m Private MY – Sydney Based Are you an engineer looking to gain some experience on larger superyachts?

Do you enjoy working for excellent owners, with good budget & friendly crew?

Position Snapshot
2nd Engineer (full-time role) Live Onboard Blended role, with some deck duties The yacht is used for strictly private use and will mostly be utilized within the Sydney Harbour region, although trips further afield are not completely off the table.

The position would suit someone trade qualified looking for their 1st superyacht role or a deck/engineer wanting to head into a permanent engineer role.

The working week is typically 5 days/week with 2 days off.

Good long-standing crew in place.

The 2nd engineer will work under the guidance of a very experienced, ticketed marine chief engineer who is happy to teach/mentor and sign off tasks for further engineering tickets.

MTU experience would be favorable but not essential (twin MTU engines of 3480 hp each).

The 2nd engineer will learn to look after toys & tenders, some electrical, and support the chief in all major projects.

The role will be blended with some basic deck duties when guests are onboard, and the 2nd engineer should be keen to learn in both departments and happy to assist across the board.

The yacht operates a large 11m chase tender and a 5.2m Zodiac that the Second Engineer may have the opportunity to refine their boat handling skills on when needed.

Preferably trade qualified or deck/engineer time Excellent attitude, keen to learn Basic knowledge of yacht engineering systems Some electrical, AV knowledge Can drive a small tender & help out on deck STCW Hands-on with engineering Not looking for a lot of offshore time Enjoys working with a professional team Meticulous with routine maintenance schedule Can step up during yard periods to assist chief Work rights in Australia Start: ASAP
Salary: Depending on Experience (paid in AUD), circa $70-80k+ Super + medical cover
