Laboratory Technician Grade 1 - Anatomical Pathology Nexomics includes:
This position would suit Medical Laboratory Technicians with experience in either Anatomical Pathology, Molecular Pathology, or Clinical Immunology/Flow Cytometry.
The purpose of this position is to prepare samples for testing and analysis for multiple departments within Nexomics.

Full Time Ongoing 80 Hours per fortnight Reports to Clinical Trials Operations Manager Experience in FISH preparation and microtomy would be highly regarded.
Victorian Department of Health has recently announced a program of reforms across the public pathology system in Victoria.
As part of these reforms, the pathology services from the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Women's Hospital, and the Royal Children's Hospital will transition to a new separate public pathology entity.
The new model for delivering public pathology services will present an exciting opportunity to improve the scope, scale, and reach of pathology services and testing capability to all Victorians.

As this role is with Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the successful candidate will be initially employed by Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
Once the new public pathology entity is fully formed, anticipated in late 2024, this position and the successful candidate's employment (including terms and conditions) will transition to the new public pathology entity.

Position Summary
This position would suit Medical Laboratory Technicians with experience in either Anatomical Pathology, Molecular Pathology, or Clinical Immunology/Flow Cytometry.
The purpose of this position is to prepare samples for testing and analysis for departments within Nexomics.
Experience in FISH preparation would be highly regarded.

This role would suit a candidate who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, can adapt to different department processing requirements, and can effectively communicate with co-workers while multitasking to ensure that all testing is completed within the appropriate time frames.
We provide testing for a number of global clinical trials, so strong written and verbal communication skills are essential when liaising with sponsors.

External clinicians and clients Liaison with Pharma companies in relation to Clinical Trials Education & Skills
Certificate or Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory), a Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Operations or equivalent.
Experience in a research laboratory or diagnostic and/or clinical trial testing.
Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: FISH preparation, microtomy, cryopreservation, DNA/RNA extraction, immunohistochemistry, standard Anatomical Pathology techniques.
Demonstrable abilities to work effectively within a team.
Works well under pressure and enjoys a diverse portfolio of duties as required by the clinical.
Demonstrable abilities to multitask and effectively improve processes.
Ability to communicate effectively and promptly utilizing electronic and other means.
Proven ability to work cooperatively with pathologists, clinicians, other senior scientists, and researchers.
Contribution and experience with validation of assays to NATA specifications.
Training in GCP and GDP.

The provision of clinical trial services, ensuring turn-around-times are met.
Operates and maintains laboratory equipment as required.
Uses the laboratory quality system for processing and testing of all samples and has a basic understanding of the clinical implications of laboratory results.

Ethical conduct.
Work is performed safely.
