All while staying committed to our member first ethos as a proud Industry Fund.About the roleCbus is recruiting for a newly created role of Analytics Engineer in the Cbus Data & Analytics Team. The role is responsible for developing analytic models within an in-house data management platform, building, and maintaining data pipelines, productionising, improving data model deployment practices and implementing automated workflows.The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive team to enhance the Data Management platform, the single source of truth for Cbus' Operations data, adopt data governance best practices, and materially increase the automation of our data processing. The platform leverages the latest technology to enable Cbus to be a more agile, data-guided, and insights-led organization.The role is within a growing data and analytics team and involves working closely with the team and external technology suppliers to deliver sound, robust, well governed data across all of Cbus Data & Analytics Operations.What you'll do,Apply ETL/ELT principles using SQL/Python/ Power Query and maintain Power Bi dashboards and reports.Design advanced data models and processes for optimized reporting and analysis.Ensure high-quality, accurate, and accessible data with strong governance.Develop automated analytic workflows to improve operational efficiency.Advocate for best practice data governance within the Data & Analytics team.Build and support data pipelines with DevOps approaches, including testing, version control, and orchestration.Execute CI/CD pipelines for managed deployments across environments.Create and maintain solution and testing documentation.Identify opportunities to enhance Data & Analytics processes.Build positive working relationships within the team and with stakeholders.Manage GIT branches, perform merges, and resolve conflicts.Key Selection CriteriaMinimum 5 years experience in a similar role with relevant qualifications.Proficiency in SQL, including modularisation, data modelling, and analysis for visualization.Experience in DataOps, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or Data Migration, with Agile and DevOps tools.Coding skills in Python/Power Shell for automation and advanced reporting/ dashboard development with SQL and Power BI.Creating reusable data assets and implementing business logic with SQL/ PySpark/SparkSQL.Managing physical data models, configuring data pipelines, and deploying across environments.Strong analytical skills for requirement analysis, design decisions, and creating automated unit tests.Providing development and post-implementation support, promoting data governance, and integrating third-party systems.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.Commitment to championing and demonstrating company values.Desirable AttributesHands-on experience with Cloud Platform services like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Delta Lake, Synapse Analytics, Power Platform, AWS, and Airflow.Experience modeling financial and member services data, ideally within the superannuation industry.Proficiency with collaboration tools like SharePoint, Confluence, Jira, and Teams.Skilled in dataset analysis using tools such as SSAS, Power BI, and Python.Understanding of investment data and processes, including global multi-asset class structures and IBOR.Experience with third-party investment systems like Factset, BarraOne, Ortec Pearl, Datastream, RIMES, Eikon, and Bloomberg.Belong at CbusWe value difference, and embrace people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, gender identities, abilities and thinking styles.
