Art Therapist Part Time (5 hours/week - Mondays) Temporary contract for 12months.

About the Art Therapy Service Art Therapy is a component of the Creative Therapies Service that comprises Art Therapy, Music Therapy and Horticultural therapy.
The creative therapy service is based at Royal Talbot Rehabilitation?Centre?and partners with Leisure Therapy.
We are excited to offer this position as an extension of our service to wards on the Austin Hospital Campus.
About the role This position will require you to provide group and individual?programs to people in the care of the Mental Health Unit at Austin Hospital's Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU) [5hrs/week].
A regular day will see you: In SECU working with adults with complex mental illness, who require extended treatment and care in a secure environment.
Developing an art therapy program that has a positive impact on the lives of the people in the ward, supporting their recovery and creating an environment that is safe and fosters creative expression.
About you As the Art Therapist, you will be someone who is a professional, confident and innovative person with experience using a variety of art making approaches and materials, You are passionate about Art Therapy and its benefits in the areas of mental health.
You will have excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you: A Masters in Art Therapy Current registration with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA).
Competence in art therapy practice with individuals and groups.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as a sole worker.
