Queensland Treasury (Organisation site)Information Services; Corporate; Social Intergovernmental and Corporate; Brisbane CityAs a Senior Security Administrator, you'll contribute to the effective management and maintenance of our security perimeter products and cloud infrastructure. Reporting to the Manager - Cloud Ops & Cyber Security, you'll work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the successful delivery of ICT projects.Queensland Treasury has an exciting role within our Information Services team as a Senior Security Administrator. You'll play a vital role in managing and maintaining our security perimeter products and cloud infrastructure, collaborating with a team of dedicated IT professionals. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the ICT strategy of the department, working in a complex and evolving ICT environment.In this role, you will:Manage Cloud, platform and security configuration, optimising performance and installing/upgrading systems.Anticipate, investigate and resolve problems for supported technologies, implementing agreed remedies and preventative measures.Adopt a modern approach to working with technology, including automation and configuration management.Collaborate closely with all IT colleagues, sharing information and knowledge.Cross-skill in related technologies, including Palo Alto firewalls and F5 appliances.Follow documented ITIL practices for incident, request, problem and change activities.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Treasury current operations, future business goals, and Whole-of-Government and ICT industry standards and trends.Employ continuous improvement methods, using feedback from outcomes and learnings to improve ICT Services.What experience you will bring:Experience in complex ICT environments to ITIL standards.Experience with security technologies including perimeter (firewalls) equipment.Experience with DNS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux.Knowledge of EDR/XDR solutions.Understanding of security frameworks e.g. ASD Essential 8, ISMS, ISO27001.Competency in high level written and verbal communications.Exemplary workplace behaviour and the ability to deliver reliably on allocated tasks and projects.Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.How to apply:To submit your application, click on the Apply link to provide:A cover letter of no more than two pages outlining why you are interested in this position and how your knowledge, skills and experience makes you a strong candidate for the role.We welcome applicants to share with the hiring manager any health condition, disability, and/or cultural or linguistic background, so that we may make any necessary adjustments to enable you to equitably participate in the recruitment process.Applications to remain current for 12 monthsJob Ad Reference: QLD/603382/24Closing Date: Friday, 22 November 2024Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to apply.
