About the Role This is a Fixed Term Position for 12 months This outstanding opportunity will provide high quality specialised legal services to Land Use Victoria's divisions of Land Registry Services and Strategic Land Assessment & Information, the Registrar of Titles, the Surveyor-General Victoria and the Valuer-General Victoria.
Working under limited direction, review and provide advice on the terms of, draft and negotiate a range of contracts for Land Use Victoria (DTP).Manage or be involved in tender processes in accordance with the requirements of the Victorian Government Purchasing Board.Provide strategic and authoritative legal advice to Land Use Victoria on complex and/or sensitive public law and commercial law issues.Negotiate and liaise with a wide range of internal and external service providers, customer groups and other stakeholders.Assist as required in the delivery of other legal advice, and perform other duties and tasks as directed.Key Selection Criteria To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will be an individual who can keep themselves and others calm under pressure, make decisive decisions, and chart effective courses of action to resolve challenging situations. Ability to use clear & concise language; prepares and delivers logical sequential and succinct presentations; uses media appropriate to the audience and presents information to develop the understanding of the topic.Able to commit to delivering high quality outcomes for clients; monitors customer satisfaction to gain critical insights; looks for continuous improvement opportunities and ways to innovate.Capable of defining tasks to be delivered to meet agreed outcomes; executes work tasks against plan; prioritises tasks in line with the urgency and impact of tasks; monitors progress of tasks against plans and takes corrective action when required.Able to resolve issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines; where guidelines are not available, analyses ideas available and takes action through self or in consultation with others to resolve problems; if required, determine additional information needed to make informed decisions; applies critical thinking and problem-solving concepts in the right context.Qualifications and Experience MandatoryQualifications and Admission: Law degree or other formal qualification in law.
