5 Weeks Annual Leave & Salary PackagingAbout the Team The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine (or Heart Centre) provides a complete range of cardiology services covering General Cardiology, Heart Failure, Structural Heart and Arrhythmia specialities and undertakes clinical research activities in affiliation with Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute.
The Cardiovascular Medicine Department is involved in a large number of international and local clinical trials from Phase 1 first in human to Phase 3 randomised controlled trials investigating newly developed drugs and devices for clinical use in Cardiovascular medicine.
About the Role Every Alfred Health nurse must practice in accordance with the Alfred Health Nursing Professional Practice Framework.
The Professional Practice Framework defines the elements of nursing practice that improve the care and experience of our patients and aligns with the Patient's Come First Strategy.
It is comprised of five domains that are crucial to maintain standards, lead change and add value to healthcare.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse to assist with cardiac clinical research in the specialty of structural heart interventions.
The position will focus on the management of quality clinical audit registries.
The registries will involve both Australian national databases and local investigator-initiated studies using RedCAP databases.
While the primarily focus will be on the structural heart registries, the role will also involve working on other research projects under the direction of the principle investigator as part of the structural heart research team.
Duties ResearchManagement and coordination including Ethics submissions of National quality clinical audit registries, local sites registries, and local investigator lead projects, for structural heart interventions.Responsibility for the delivery of direct and indirect clinical registry-related care of patients.Complete data collection for concurrent clinical registries and research studies, undertaken for relevant structural heart interventions.Management and coordination of concurrent structural heart clinical registries for the relevant structural heart interventions.Commits to ongoing professional development of self, other staff and the profession.Accepts responsibility for own continuing professional development by setting realistic goals based on assessment of individual strengths and learning needs.Supports the development of others by acting as a resource to colleagues and participating in orientation and preceptoring of new staff.Participates in continuing education activities, committees and professional groups.Skills & Experience Essential Bachelor's Degree Nursing.Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.Current Cardiac / Cardiothoracic experience.Current and satisfactory Police Check.Current and satisfactory Working With Children Check.Desirable Previous experience as a research nurse.Certificate in Good Clinical Practice (GCP).Relevant postgraduate nursing qualification.Competent experience in the use of a range of contemporary computer applications (Especially MS Excel and RedCAP database).Previous experience in project management.High level organizational skills with demonstrated capacity to establish priorities and meet deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.Benefits Salary Packaging & Novated Leasing through Maxxia.Flexible Heath Insurance coverage through HCF Health Insurance.On-site car & bike parking opportunities, Deducted Pre-TaxFantastic onsite fitness facilities at The Alfred through ProSport Health and Fitness.Child Care Services at The Alfred managed by KU Children's Services.If applicable, specify specific requirements that you require in the cover letter or CV.
