Director Of Physician Education

The Director of Physician Education (DPE) is a senior leadership role within the Office of the Chief Medical Officer and is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the Basic Physician Training (BPT) Program.
The DPE will work closely with Clinical Service Directors, Heads of Units, Supervisors and the Medical Education and Medical Workforce Units to deliver a comprehensive training program supporting the education, training, and workforce requirements at Western Health.
The DPE will be supported by a dedicated team including Deputy Directors of Physician Education.
Appointment Specifics:
21.0 hours per week/0.6EFT ongoing as DPE Job share may be considered in a Co-DPE model Must hold a Western Health clinical appointment in addition to DPE role.
Clinical appointment will be negotiated after the selection process for external candidates.
To be successful in this role, you will:
Be a recognised leader in medical education and have active experience in post-graduate physician education; Have current or previous experience as an Examiner for the RACP; Have had at least 5 years of post FRACP clinical experience; Be a registered medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia; Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
