About the role We are currently seeking expressions of interest for highly motivated Electrical Technicians who are interested in either FIFO (8 days on / 6 days off) or moving to Newman and joining our Newman Operations residential teams (lifestyle roster, 4 days on, 5 off, 5 nights on, 4 off, 5 days on, 5 off).
Relocation assistance and/or housing subsidies provided.
Newman Operations is part of Western Australian Iron Ore and consists of two mining sites in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, on the traditional lands of the Nylyaparli people.

In your role, your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility, sustainable development and team engagement in all aspects of work.Preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, attending breakdowns and running complex diagnostics/testing and fault finding of all fixed plant equipment.High Voltage Switching of all Fixed Plant Electrical equipment.Identifying and rectifying faults during inspections and following specific maintenance programs.Initiating updates to work procedures to ensure they are accurate and relevant to equipment.Providing input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability.Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assisting in the implementation of new initiatives in a constructive way.Proficiency with computer-based planning systems, ideally 1SAP & Fiori.About Newman The 7,000 strong community of Newman enjoys well-established town facilities including a newly revitalised town centre with shops and restaurants as well as sporting facilities, swimming pool and gyms.

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
Australia recognized trade qualification – A grade Electrical License.Current Australian C class manual drivers licence.Well-developed understanding of the operation and maintenance of Fixed Plant equipment.Strong experience with an HV Operator competency/appointment (Highly regarded).Technical knowledge of PLCs (AB), VVVFs (Siemens / ABB), networks, instrumentation, HV/LV motors and Citect systems (Highly regarded).Experience troubleshooting electrical, control and hydraulic systems.EWP, Confined Space, Working at Heights Certificates (Desirable).About Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
