JOB DESCRIPTION: Pedestrian Group is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Business Strategy & Operations to join our leadership team.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this pivotal role will shape the future of the business by driving operational excellence and spearheading growth initiatives across all facets of our operations.
This role offers the unique opportunity to leverage the power of Nine Group, gaining access to its strategic capabilities across Nine, Stan, Domain, and Drive to amplify innovation and growth for Pedestrian.
In this role you'll lead our Finance, Technology, and Data teams, and have parental leave responsibilities of our Ad-Operations and Facilities teams, while collaborating with Editorial, Commercial, and Studios to drive strategic partnerships and projects forward.
This role spans Pedestrian Group's platforms, including Pedestrian.tv, Pedestrian TELEVISION, Pedestrian JOBS, and Open Air Cinemas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead strategic planning processes in partnership with the Managing Director and Leadership team.Drive cross-functional initiatives to identify, test, and implement growth and operational improvements.Oversee KPIs, delivering actionable insights through regular and ad-hoc reporting for internal and external stakeholders.Apply strategic and analytical rigor to guide decisions in commercial products, digital development, audience growth, and transactional activities.Foster a data-driven culture by shaping strategies, tools, and insights for informed decision-making and investment.Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, in collaboration with the Finance Manager.Partner with the Head of Technology to develop a clear roadmap for digital product initiatives and IT infrastructure.Serve as a people leader, ensuring team capability, performance, and growth.Collaborate with the Product & Marketing Manager to expand Pedestrian JOBS.Support the Leadership team in major negotiations and partnership discussions.Leverage the capabilities of Nine Group to support strategic goals and unlock new opportunities for Pedestrian Group.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 5–10 years of experience in consulting, finance, business strategy, or similar roles.Degree or equivalent qualification, preferably with accounting credentials.Proven ability to influence and manage diverse stakeholders effectively.Sound judgment and agility in fast-paced, dynamic environments.Collaborative leadership style with the ability to inspire and align teams.Exceptional communication and presentation skills.Demonstrated experience in team management and development.This is an exciting opportunity to shape Pedestrian Group's future, using your strategic and operational expertise to drive real and meaningful impact.
