Senior Accountant - Accounting Policy and Advisory As a Senior Accountant- Technical & reporting , you will be embedded in the Accounting Policy & Advisory department, at the forefront of ensuring our Group's compliance with accounting standards.
This senior role within the Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy team is pivotal in creating Group accounting written policies and providing expert technical accounting advice.
Your contributions will be crucial in the design, development, and communication of the Group's accounting policies, as well as assisting with accurate and timely statutory reporting for the Group and its subsidiaries.
You will serve in an advisory capacity, requiring a talent for presenting financial information and accounting standards interpretation to senior management and business stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
This role demands strong communication skills and, preferably, an understanding of the banking or other financial services industries.
You will also be responsible for training on accounting policies and upholding governance requirements related to their use.
About you
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is:
CA/CPA qualified with over 7 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in the Financial Services sector.
Experienced in designing and delivering written accounting policies.
Skilled in implementing accounting standards and interpreting IFRIC decisions.
You should have demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of written accounting policies, implementation of accounting standards and/or IFRIC decisions, and interpreting and applying accounting standards.
Your ability to communicate complex accounting and financial reporting issues to non-technical stakeholders will be essential, as will your stakeholder engagement capabilities across all levels.
You are someone who communicates with influence, operates effectively in a matrix environment, and leverages relationships to drive outcomes.
A curious mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement are key to succeeding in this role.
