This unique and hands-on Special Counsel role offers high visibility with executive leadership, providing expert legal advice and leading the legal response for various high-profile projects.
We are seeking a seasoned legal professional with a strong background in commercial disputes, an exceptional ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, and a proven track record of managing high-value matters to optimal outcomes.
What You'll Do Provide expert, pragmatic legal advice on complex commercial disputesAct as the primary legal contact for high-profile commercial dispute projectsPartner with senior business leaders to simplify complex legal matters and deliver commercially sound solutionsProactively identify opportunities to mitigate legal risks and enhance outcomes on dispute-related projectsChampion continuous improvement initiatives within the legal teamManage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring efficient and effective resolution of disputes What You'll Bring Law degree and current Australian Practising Certificate (mandatory)15+ years PQE in litigation and commercial disputesProven ability to resolve complex disputes on optimal terms in high-pressure environmentsExceptional advocacy, contractual interpretation, and regulatory expertiseAbility to provide clear, concise advice to senior stakeholders, including C-suite executivesStrong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and agility under tight timeframes What we can offer A range of flexible working and leave options, including 20 weeks paid parental leave, 4 weeks paid secondary carer parental leave and unlimited paid emergency response leaveDiscounts and offers on a range of retail favourite stores as well as insurance productsGive back to our communities with payroll giving, donation matching and paid volunteer leaveInvest in your brighter future with ongoing study support and career development programsPrioritise your work/life balance with our robust employee assistance program and dedicated employee council
