Your opportunity: Our Digital & Information group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Digital Infrastructure Readiness Lead to join our newly established Digital Programs team.
Digital & Information is responsible for digitally enabling Urban Utilities today and digitally transforming future capability to enable provision of digital services to our customers, community and people.
The group is accountable to formulate and execute Urban Utilities' digital & data strategy, deliver Urban Utilities digital portfolio and provide day-to-day operations of information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT), including security, infrastructure management, system administration, network operations, and support services.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Digital Infrastructure Programs, the Digital Infrastructure Readiness Lead is responsible for ensuring that new infrastructure is operationally ready and fit for business purposes before handover.
This role involves managing teams of business analysts, testers, and change managers to ensure operational and business readiness for new infrastructure implementations.
The Digital Infrastructure Readiness Lead ensures that all necessary training, documentation, and support structures are in place to enable smooth transitions to operational status.
Success in this role will be measured by the smooth and successful transition of infrastructure projects to operational status, stakeholder satisfaction, and the readiness of the operations team to manage and maintain new infrastructure.
Key performance indicators will include the effectiveness of readiness activities, the quality of transition documentation, and the preparedness of operational teams.
About you: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related fieldRelevant qualifications in Agile, PRINCE2 or ITIL would be highly desirableDemonstrated experience in operational readiness management, leading technical teams, and ensuring successful transitions of infrastructure projectsStrong knowledge of digital infrastructure technologies across ICT, OT, data, and IoT domains.Extensive experience in managing readiness activities, including training, documentation, and support structures.Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and planning to ensure cost-effective readiness activities.Minimum 5 years' experience running a similar multi-function unit in a large organization, ideally with a customer-centric model.Experience in engaging with stakeholders to identify business requirements.Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and leading innovation in readiness practices.Leading, managing, and directing technical teams in the delivery of readiness activities in a complex environment.Performance of 'on call' duties are an inherent requirement of this role.
This requires that the employee must be available to be on-call and to attend to work matters, both in person and remotely, outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as reasonably required to fulfill the requirements of the position.
The days, times, duration and frequency of on call arrangements may be subject to change, including at short notice, as required by Urban Utilities' operational needs as applying from time to time.
At all times whilst on-call, you must be fit for duty, contactable, and able to respond, including the ability to physically attend if required, to the operational needs of the business within a reasonable timeframe and in a safe manner. At UU, we celebrate diversity.
