Other : This role is for a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to contribute to critical asset improvement and maintenance projects on a Tier-1 heavy mining site, with a focus on fixed plant equipment.
The position is FIFO out of Brisbane or Townsville, working 12.5-hour shifts Monday to Thursday.
This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities : Provide mechanical engineering expertise and consultative support to the business to ensure timely execution of defined tasks associated with modifications and improvement projects.Ensure engineering design is safe, meets required standards and is implemented in accordance with standards and best engineering practices.Take shared accountability for the performance of the Technical Support team, promote operational discipline in work execution, ensure quality of completed tasks, and enhance technical knowledge of team members and other Engineering employees in regard to own technical discipline(s).Develop maintenance strategies for fixed plant equipment within the operations.Provide technical input into work instructions and ensure that these are accurately documented.Identify all equipment requiring inspections and repairs based on legislative and statutory requirements.Develop maintenance strategies to meet the requirements of Safety Critical Equipment.Performance Objectives : Deliver safe mechanical engineering support to the business as directed by the senior Mechanical Engineer.Maintain accurate documentation and comply with site standards and procedures.Enhance asset life and reliability through proactive engineering interventions.Deliver designs that align with heavy mining industry technical requirements.Key Skills and Qualifications : Extensive heavy mining site experience, with fixed plant assets preferred.Strong technical expertise in engineering and asset reliability.In-depth knowledge of industry standards and safe practices for mining operations.Demonstrated ability to solve problems and identify solutions with a focus on cost, risk, and value.Effective collaboration skills to work seamlessly within a small, focused engineering team.Please submit your resume in word format and we will contact you once shortlisting begins.
